My Longevity Routine
Daily
My day is literally built upon achieving the best sleep possible. Very different than my views of sleep when I was young, I believe sleep to be the most important foundation of longevity. Even more important than diet.
Elements of my BEGINNING OF DAY sleep routine include:
5 minutes of transitioning from deep sleep to being awake. "Alexa, lights blue, 10%.". On my back, thinking about my body, assesing how I feel.
I wear a smart ring. Grab my phone and determine the quality of my sleep, and the various physical measurement (heart rate, sleep cycles, etc.) Congratulate myself, or see my shortcomings. Plan to do better tonight if change is in order.
"Alexa, lights white, 50%." 5 minutes of stretching. Some stretches while still in bed feel amazing! "Alexa, lights bright!"
"Good Morning", "Toe Touch" and "Splits" stretches at the side of the bed. Now I am fully awake.
Elements of my END OF DAY sleep routine include:
I can be careless and not get into bed when I plan to. A late night call, a dip in the jacuzzi, etc. can distract me. Making a commitment and honoring it is important.
Go to bed hungry, but not too hungry. Go to bed without thirst, but drink less fluid in preparation for sleep. These things are not going to happen by accident. Haha!
My Brain is the MOST POWERFUL longevity tool in my arsenal. I use it every day, and in every way I can imagine. I attribute many of the results that I am achieving to constant practice in visualization, mind-control, discipline, gratitude.
BEGINNING OF DAY Cognitive Function:
Gratefulness has been proven to have many health benefits and it's completely free.
Great athletes imagine perfect performances. I imagine a day about longevity that is perfectly executed.
"I am the CEO of My Body. I delegate to my unconcious mind. Attract me only to good things. Repel me from all that is bad. Fix all the challenges in my body, and help me to be aware and grateful that this is happening."
"The World believes in aging, in slowing down, in becoming less, in pain, in infirmity. No thank you. I believe in anti-aging, speeding up, feeling amazing, and constant health."
DURING THE DAY Cognitive Function:
I have written software most every day since I was 25. I love it. It keeps my mind agile.
Building a business requires great mental concentration and discipline.
Online and in work with others, I express my creatity with writing, speeches, and presentations.
I just re-upped my subscription to Lumosity
Elements of my END OF DAY Cognitive Function:
Sometimes I do great. Sometimes, I suck. But either way, I own the results.
All the knowledge of the Universe is inside of us. We just need to discover it, not learn it. Sleep and dream are good tools for that.
